AFCEA Greater Tampa Bay actively supports STEM education through its Cyber Outreach and AFCEA Scholarship programs. These initiatives extend cyber awareness at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and scholarships, grants, and tuition assistance to individuals pursuing careers as STEM educators, engineers, technicians, programmers, military personnel, and government officials.

As a 501(c)(6) charitable organization, AFCEA Greater Tampa Bay emphasizes that donations made to support its mission are not eligible for tax deductions as charitable contributions on the donor's federal income tax return. However, they may be deductible as trade or business expenses if deemed ordinary and necessary for the taxpayer's business. Other provisions within the Internal Revenue Code might make these donations tax deductible. Donors are advised to consult their tax adviser to ascertain the deductibility of their contributions.
